Yearsley Group acquire business, assets and building at Hams Hall.

Yearsley Group has now formally purchased the business and assets of Partner Logistics Hams Hall Ltd following the operation of the business on licence from July. The Group has also acquired the freehold of the Hams Hall warehouse from Ropemaker Properties Ltd. This now secures Yearsley Group’s commitment to the future of Hams Hall and the clients that utilise the depot.

Yearsley Group added the 200,000 sq ft automated cold storage facility at Coleshill in the Midlands to its portfolio to continue improving its service offering to retailers. Having run the business for 3 months, existing clients have seen a seamless transition to the Yearsley Group ownership. New clients have been attracted to the 42,000 pallet, state of the art cold store due to its location close to 5 major motorways and the service offering from Yearsley Group.

Harry Yearsley, managing director, said: “The location of this cold store could not be better for consolidating stock from around the UK and abroad, and delivering into many of the leading retailers NDCs. Consolidation of stock from manufacturers not only makes for more efficient delivery into major retail and food service organisations, it also contributes to reducing carbon output. We are forecasting that Hams Hall will be 60% full by March 2013”

With the addition of Hams Hall, Yearsley Group now has 13 regional depots, a national pallet capacity exceeding 320,000 and a fleet of more than 300 temperature-controlled vehicles.

The acquisition comes 3 months after Yearsley Group began work on the expansion of its Heywood headquarters to create a northern ‘superhub’ to meet demand for new contracts, which will increase capacity by a further 40,000 to 80,000 pallets by next year.
